Wakalat Bazar’a
The Wakāla is located in street Tunbakshya to the west of Circassian Mamluk madrasa of Gamaladdin al-Ustadar. It was founded at the end of 17th century. The ground floor has 7 shops on the street side and 25 store rooms arranged around a gallery surrounding the courtyard. The first floor has 25 rooms overlooking the courtyard through the gallery. The upper floor consists of 29 apartments built as private triplex house; a reception room with double height overlooking the courtyard through large window with wooden screen (mashrabiya), small kitchen and W.C. a small staircase leads to the mezzanine floor with W.C. and third floor where the sleeping room, with a roof terrace.
