Al-Baramos monastery

Baramos monastery is located at natrun valley, the name Baromeos is deriven from the Coptic   Pa-Romeos, which means that of the Romans. It was founded by Saint Macarius the Great  in the year 335 A.D.

Today, It has five churches: Virgin Mary, Saint Theodore of Amasea , Saint Georges , Saint John the Baptist , Archangel Michael.
